In 1961 the road (A513) was being widened by Staff CC and one of the men involved was a Mr Ronald Greatrix who drove a earthmover and discovered a large stone post and was told by people of the village that it was part of the old toll house some farmer tried to claim it but before he could get it Ron and his mate dug a hole and erected it at the side of the road (see photos) but now its disappeared has anyone got any ideas as to where it may be.
